Every photographer has their lockdown project. Mine was to spend a year in the same small bit of the local landscape, the place where I walked the dog most mornings in lockdown.
I wanted to capture the changes as the seasons rolled round.
I also wanted to have an image that tied the rest together, so the above is a solargraph with a full year's exposure - 365 sunrises. I absolutely love this image and was really glad of the water damage - living in the landscape should be a two way process and the observer is never really detached.
This is one of my favourite photo books. I feel it really tells the story of the year - the land, plants, pets, wild animals and people that live in it or use it.
As with pretty much all my book projects, I did it on Blurb so you can buy a physical or PDF copy yourself if you would like - click the button below!
