Thorpe Cloud from Bunster Hill, Dawn
Thorpe Cloud is an iconic location in the Peak District, sitting above the famous Dovedale stepping stones. It has an almost pyramidal shape, making it seem artificial from some angles; and it stands alone at the bottom of Dovedale, distinctive and separate from the valley it is a part of.
I have always loved Thorpe Cloud, ever since I first climbed it in primary school, dressed as a penguin (something to do with the 1990 UN climate conference in Rio to organise action to combat climate change).
This is a collection of studies of Thorpe Cloud and how it relates to its location at the edge of the Peaks and the people who use it.
I hope you enjoy them!
